about marburg

Allow us to acquaint you with Marburg's beautiful "Altstadt"!

From atop a hill, the impressive Marburg Castle overlooks the early Gothic-style Elisabeth Church, the Old University, worn roofs of the many old-fashioned Fachwerk Houses, as well as the Lahn River. Centered in the heart of Germany, Marburg has witnessed many world changing events, particularly the Reformation. Martin Luther even preached here in the Michael Chapel near the Elisabeth Church.
